Skincare Diary: June 8, 2016

My face was feeling super duper smooth this morning with no irritation. Blemishes are drying/draining/healing nicely. I’m wondering if I can expect more purging after I use the RoC serum again. I have, after all, only used it once after the Stridex.

AM

  1. Proactiv Cleanser
  2. Proactiv Repair
  3. Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Instant Infusion Treatment Toner
  4. e.l.f. Acne Fighting Gel
  5. COOLA Classic Sunscreen Cucumber Moisturizer

I know. I know. I need to stop using the Proactiv every morning. I think at this point it’s mostly to treat the blemishes that popped up from purging. My skin isn’t irritated from it, though, so I’m not too terribly concerned, and once it’s used up, it’s gone. I’m not reordering.

PM

  1. Julep Love Your Bare Face Cleansing Oil
  2. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
  3. Naobay Calming Face Toner
  4. By Nature Nourishing & Refining Face Mask
  5. Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Instant Infusion Treatment Toner
  6. Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream
  7. Neutrogena Grapefruit Moisturizer
  8. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil
  9. Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
  10. Kate Somerville EradiKate to blemishes

I haven’t used a sheet mask in several days, so I figured tonight I’d take it easy and treat my skin to a good bit of moisture. These sheet masks are from New Zealand and are supposed to be rinsed off, which is why I used it before my toner. They were part of a small recent haul at TJ Maxx, and since I’m a fan of manuka honey (and just ran out of my gel, these seemed like something I needed right now.

  1. I have been meaning to pick up some RoC stuff. I love CeraVe, Fresh, Caudalie and Kate Somerville. Proactive used to work great for me in my twenties but I cant really use that stuff now.

    1. It’s not working as well for me now, either, but mostly because I find that my skin has other needs. BUT I still find that nothing works quite as well as benzoyl peroxide on my face issues, so I’ll keep purchasing other (cheaper) products with that 2.5% BP in it.

As to the RoC serum… I did end up purchasing this after trying one that was sent to me in a sample box, but I find that in my new routine it’s not quite what I’m looking for, so I’m mostly using this up. I’ll probably end up getting separate AHA and retinol products once it’s gone.
