Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly subscription, unlike Target’s box, which comes roughly once a month and is sold on a first come, first serve basis. It also doesn’t have quite the value of the Target box, but it’s worth noting, and at $5 it can be a good deal. It’s high time I reviewed one of these.
When you first sign up, Walmart will give you the option of getting the Classic box or the Trendsetter box. I have a subscription to both, and I honestly can’t tell you which one this is. There’s really nothing to distinguish one from the other, best I can tell. Both of mine this quarter came with a hefty number of samples, and the contents are certainly not uniform from person to person. Continue reading “Spring 2016 Walmart Beauty Box Review”
Sample with Purchase
Priced at $26 for 0.52 oz
This sample was available to toss in my bag when I grabbed a solid to cleanse my Beauty Blender. Yes, I finally got one, but more on that in another review. I did just get through saying how much I love lip balms, and I’ve said in the past that I love all things hydration. This definitely puts a check mark in both categories. The sample size is actually pretty generous when I consider how much I actually wear at once. I can get several uses out of each of the three pods. That’s a good thing considering that Alabama weather still hasn’t decided if it’s warming up or cooling down, and I’m still turning on the dry gas heat every now and then. My lips get dry. Purchased Subscription Box Sample
Priced at $6.22 (best price) for 0.11 oz.
Sub boxes are my jam. I’ve said it over and over again, it’s a great way to try new products on the cheap and fill out your beauty collection. This one was a 0.08 oz sample I received in the Spring 2016 Walmart Beauty Box. Walmart’s boxes ship out seasonally and will only cost you $5 for shipping. The box itself is at no cost. Some are better than others. My Winter 2015 box contained foil packet samples and a couple of trial sizes, but nothing to write home about. My Fall 2015 box, on the other hand, contained a full size Roc serum valued at around $20. Past boxes have also included full size items, usually a lipstick or a mascara, but there’s an occasional full size cream or lotion gem. It’s not as good as the Target box, in my opinion, but it’s still a good value at only $5 every three months. I’ve never gotten less than $5 worth of product. You look forward to a week off. No driving anyone to or from school. No work. No errands to run. You stay up late on Sunday, and by late I mean that the birds chirping outside are a sign that it’s time to sleep. (No joke, I went to bed at around 5:30.) You plan to sleep in…
So why in the hell did I wake up at 8:00 a.m. today? WHYYYYYYY?!?!?!
Maybe I’ll get a nap later. I’m going to enjoy my break. Continue reading “Monday Musings”
As of writing this, it’s still available, though I plan to get mine from Sephora, so I won’t be purchasing it just yet.
It goes for $49. Add any item for free shipping, as it’s free with a $50 purchase. Otherwise, it’s $5.95. You can get it here. It will also be in Ulta stores on April 7.
If you’re waiting on Sephora like I am because you have Flash shipping and want the Beauty Insider points, Sephora will have it online on March 29 and in stores on April 15, so you still have plenty of time to get the limited edition palette at retail price. (Please don’t feel like you have to pay 3x this much to get it off of ebay.) If you’re not a VIB or Rouge and you’re worried that they’ll get first dibs and it’ll be sold out, then now is the time to get it from Ulta.
UPDATE: The palette is now out of stock on Ulta’s website but will still be in stores on April 7 and available from Sephora on the dates listed above.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of perfume. I wear it sometimes, but I can’t stand when people around me wear too much, and I always worry if I’m that stinky lady in the room on days when I wear any perfume at all. Mostly, I stick to a light spritz of fragrance mist from Bath & Body Works after my shower. (My current favorite is this one, a pretty inoffensive vanilla.)
That said, I did take notice of this when Sephora decided to toss it into my email inbox.
Sephora Favorites Deluxe Perfume Sampler

I love the Sephora Favorites sets. They give me an opportunity to try out a bunch of great products, and they’re a great value to boot. Back in January, I purchased the Quench Your Skin set, which was chock full of new moisturizing products, some of which I still haven’t gotten around to trying.
One thing that I have gotten around to trying is a sample size of this stuff:
Priced at $46 for 1.85 oz.

I was introduced to this through my purchase of the Allure Beauty Thrills box back in November. These are, by the way, amazing deals on things you use every day, (skin care, body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, etc) and in the past a portion of each purchase has gone to charity. The last one was $49.95 plus shipping and had a value of $425. Another one of these for Spring/Summer 2016 should be coming soon, so keep an eye out. They do post ahead of time what’s in the box, so you can determine how much of it you’ll use and whether or not it’s worth getting one. I still haven’t finished clearing out everything from my Winter 2015 box, so I might split the next one with my mom or sisters-in-law. Seriously, folks… You get a LOT of stuff, so it’s no wonder that when it goes live it sells out in minutes. Continue reading “Touch In Sol Feel Like Honey Moon Skin Base”
This is a new line from Tarte that features both skincare and makeup, and of course I wanted to give the skincare a try. Thankfully, Sephora has a nice little collection featuring trial size versions of three of these new products for just $10. (And of course, that set has now gone out of stock for the second time.) I was able to snag one for myself, so I figured I’d give you guys a short review on each of the three items included in the set in case you’d like to purchase them separately.
